Network Coverage on your iPhone:
You will only be able to access HSDPA / 3G speeds and services in Virgin Mobile 3G / HSDPA areas (coverage provided by Optus). Outside of these areas, users will be connected to GPRS which is far slower than 3G. Virgin Mobile’s GSM coverage reaches 96% of the Australian population whilst 3G coverage currently covers 83% of the population.
