According to CNET.com.au, the iPhone is due to cost a little bit less on an Optus plan.
While the details aren’t all out at this stage, it has been reported that the 8GB iPhone will be available for free on a $49 per month contract with handset repayments being cut out completely when on a 24 month contract and reduced to $40 per month on a single year contract.
The price cut has been confirmed by a spokesperson at Optus, although there was no further information on whether the pricing for the 16GB iPhone would change as well.
The iPhone has held its price for almost a full year after being released in Australia in July 2008. A new iPhone model is due to be announced at the WWDC 2009 in early July.
